Out of boredom- fruitcocktail-in-custard

Out of boredom, and the need to return borrowed pots and bowls (used for last weeks openhouse-malu nak pulangkan bekas kosong after so long), i made some fruitcocktail-in-custard.
i'm not even sure it's a dish, but since i was at a loss of ideas for our openhouse last week, i thought it would do for dessert. As any open house, people would expect something sweet to finish off the meal. so i had to think of something that was very2 easy to make, didn't take up loads of time, didn't need a lot of ingredients and can be made in large amounts. i vaguely recall having something similar at somebody's house once, so i thought, why not.
It is really2 easy. All you need is:

  • Milk
  • Sugar
  • Custard powder
follow what ever directions are on the packet of the custard powder you're using.
  • then add a tin of 'fruitsalad' (64cents at aldi) without the juice and mix.

simple isn't it? even easier than trifle. it's not really the kind of thing you'd make often, but it's a good idea if you're planning to entertain a large number of people and you're afraid that dessert might run out. you can practically do it in 5 minutes (just hide the fact that it's been served hot).
ooo plus it was actually my first attempt at custard, ever hehe.
